Facebook Birthday Party Invitation goes Viral - 15,000 Confirmed to Attend!

The Viral Party
Phew, I've never heard an invitation going so wild before. Thessa, a Teenage girl from Germany, wanted to invite her few friends on to her Birthday party. So she created an Event in Facebook, but did a small mistake - she forgot to make the Invitation as Private. This invitation spread around like a wildfire. In no time around 15,000 people confirmed to attend the Party!
 Huffingtonpost.com reports -
Eleven people were temporarily detained, one police officer was injured, dozens of girls wearing flip-flops cut their feet on broken glass and firefighters had to extinguish two small fires at the 16th birthday party in Hamburg, police spokesman Mirko Streiber said Sunday.

Should have been a great party! Thessa's parents on knowing the mistake their daughter made called upon Police and a Private agency to protect them from the downpour.  Public announcements were made in Hamburg that the Party was cancelled, but still about 1,500 people came up with Gifts and Wishes to Thessa.
Some revelers held up signs asking "Where is Thessa?" others brought birthday presents and homemade cake, there was lots of alcohol and the crowd chanted again and again, "Thessa, celebrating a birthday is not a crime," – in obvious relation to the massive police presence, Bild reported.
Now this again proves how delicate can Facebook prove to be, and how much effect it has on a Society.
