Now its Google Vs. Oracle!

Oracle has come to my campus at recruited more than expected number of students. I did not get through, and sorry to say, but I'm beginning to hate Oracle's principles. Since they have taken over Sun-Microsystems, Oracle has been trying to sue Google for using the software called Dalvik, which is very similar to Java and is used for the development of Android. Android is surely becoming commercially a super hit, which I think Oracle cannot digest. I'm sorry to those selected in Oracle - These are ONLY my personal views!

So now there has been a twist in the story, the founder of Java- James Gosling has got a new Employer. And guess who? Yes! It's Google. This is what James had to say -
Oracle's ways evidently didn't agree with Gosling. He called Oracle Chief Executive Larry Ellison "Larry, Prince of Darkness." And, he said, "During the integration meetings between Sun and Oracle, where we were being grilled about the patent situation between Sun and Google, we could see the Oracle lawyer's eyes sparkle."
Now let's see what Google comes up with! Do you think its going to launch another platform better than Java?    Let's wait and see how the future beckons!

Your Zodiac Sign has changed!

People usually stick to their Star signs, read on books of Horoscope and wonder how precise they have described your characters. But there has been a change on all these concepts, starting from - your Zodiac Sign is not what you think it is.Here is why -

"Over the past 3,000 years, the Earth’s shift on its axis has changed the 12 astrological signs as we know them. Astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society have discovered that because of the moon’s gravitational pull on Earth, the alignment of the stars was pushed by about a month.
Essentially, your astrological sign is determined by the position of the sun on the day you were born. This new information in effect means that what we thought we knew about our Zodiac sign is wrong. "Because of this change in the tilt, the Earth is over here and the sun is in a different constellation than it was 3,000 years ago when this study of the stars began" - Astronomer Parke Kunkle says.

So forget everything you thought you knew about your star sign, and get ready for a brand-spanking new version of the astrological chart. The Minnesota Planetarium Society has revealed the following list as where the real Zodiac signs fall.
  • Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16
  • Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11
  • Pisces: March 11-April 18
  • Aries: April 18-May 13
  • Taurus: May 13-June 21
  • Gemini: June 21-July 20
  • Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10
  • Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16
  • Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30
  • Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23
  • Scorpio: Nov. 23-29
  • Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17
  • Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20
Dang! I'm not Virgo anymore, its Leo - now gotta dig on its characteristic behaviors. But will the Moon's gravity effect our characters? Comment on what you feel about the whole concept of Zodiac Sign's

Android on your PC!

I'm a person who has used an Android phone only once in my life, and I have no words to express how great the interface and its application works out. Recently I got to read the latest edition of Chip(March 2011), which has an additional booklet about Android. An article caught my attention which says you can download the image of Android OS and use it in your Netbook/Laptop. So I went out to give a shot on it, let me explain how it should be done.
First download the image of Android from this link A variety of choices are given, you can either use the stable Androidx86 1.6.iso version or the Android x86 2.2-generic version which is the Eclair version. It's size is 82.4mb.

Electronic Arts has come up with a Shocker of a game. This game is extremely enjoyable and awesomely created, with a huge perspective of a sequel in account. You play the game as a reckless assassin Graysun Hunt, you'll always have your partner of Dead Echo Ishi Sato(A half Cyborg) in the game to accompany you, and ofcourse Trishka - find her in the pic!
The game begins with you getting drunk with your Group - Dead Echo, a team of Govt. sponsored Assassins with a Head General Sarrano, who turns out to be the bad guy. Dead Echo realizes this and sets course to revenge on Sarrano, but the path ain't easy, Dead Echo's spaceship, along with Sarrano's crash into a planet gone rogue with all kind of mutated creatures. Ranging from crazy skulls, special bosses, even huge Godzilla sized creatures, its a "Murder movie out there, starring Me" - Graysun Hunt. The voice over has been done perfectly, with tons of situations where you would be rolling laughing. But this part has many criticisms too, the language seems to have a high concentration of profanity, which makes this Game not suitable for children. The gameplay follows this track as well, you get special skill points for the way you kill - the weirder, the better! The story of the game has been well crafted, with a pretty decent ending as well - surely pointing towards the sequel, which I am already looking forward to.

I couldn update my blog recently because of my hectic schedule, many things passed by, I always wished I could share those. Here I am scribbling down a few things I wanted to write, Comment if I have missed some significant points! I need to catch up too :)
  • The first thing I remember is the Gmail Bug. During a recent software update, Gmail encountered a bug that made thousand of users unable to access their mails - or have no mails in their Inbox! Now that's scary, one day you open up your inbox to check mails and all you see is a "Welcome to Gmail" mail! I had to reassure twice that it hadn effected my account. Google claims it affected only 0.02% of their users(which is still huge). Surprisingly the Backup from all servers were removed too, which made Google to recover data using information from Tapes(which apparently is 1000's of miles long!)
  • Next big thing on the world of Technology was the announcement of Ipad 2! I'm not going into much details of it, pretty sure there are thousands of better reviews available online! (Come on! Ive never even seen an Ipad yet :( )
  •  Windows Server 2008 R2 has released Service Pack 1, which is available for download
  • Internet Explorer 9 has launched officially, the new browser has put forth a good challenge to Mozilla and Chrome, it works fast and looks nice.
  • Google has finally put restriction on Search results providing "Rapidshare" and "Torrent" links. Due to huge pressure of piracy, Google will not give accurate(Or will not give any) results supporting Piracy.
  • Facebook has introduced "Press enter to post your comment" feature, making it easier to comment on Facebook with less mouse clicks
  • Help me get more news, please do comment! And yes - finally, Google adsense has approved!
