Bulletstorm

Electronic Arts has come up with a Shocker of a game. This game is extremely enjoyable and awesomely created, with a huge perspective of a sequel in account. You play the game as a reckless assassin Graysun Hunt, you'll always have your partner of Dead Echo Ishi Sato(A half Cyborg) in the game to accompany you, and ofcourse Trishka - find her in the pic!
The game begins with you getting drunk with your Group - Dead Echo, a team of Govt. sponsored Assassins with a Head General Sarrano, who turns out to be the bad guy. Dead Echo realizes this and sets course to revenge on Sarrano, but the path ain't easy, Dead Echo's spaceship, along with Sarrano's crash into a planet gone rogue with all kind of mutated creatures. Ranging from crazy skulls, special bosses, even huge Godzilla sized creatures, its a "Murder movie out there, starring Me" - Graysun Hunt. The voice over has been done perfectly, with tons of situations where you would be rolling laughing. But this part has many criticisms too, the language seems to have a high concentration of profanity, which makes this Game not suitable for children. The gameplay follows this track as well, you get special skill points for the way you kill - the weirder, the better! The story of the game has been well crafted, with a pretty decent ending as well - surely pointing towards the sequel, which I am already looking forward to.

The gameplay is what makes this game enjoyable, a variety of combos and guns, Kill the way you love to! And the funky conversations in between makes the game all the more enjoyable! Guns loaded with charges, which can give you lots of new combos. You get skill-shots on every weird kill you make, which can be used to buy ammo and charges, or even unlock charges on your weapon. The best weapon here would be the Sniper, just love the way it works. Feels like the movie Wanted, you can direct the bullet to your enemy in mid air using your mouse! There are many awesome gripping sequences as well, kept with timers and terrors of huge unknown creatures.
Overall the game is a lot enjoyable, considering that there has not been many good game releases for a while, Bulletstorm is a treat to play. The game moves out pretty linear, there are problems like you get to Jump only when you are supposed and stuff like that, the world is limited, you don't fall off an edge, but the game is still awesome!
Now getting on to how the game looks. The graphics is pretty awesome, world details and characters done really good. The music and soundtracks are good too, with a tinge of Halo soundtracks at times, and the character voices are done brilliantly. Finally I would like to put a note on how it worked on my laptop the HP Pavilion dv6000 with specs
  • Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 @2.00 GHz
  • 3.00 GB Ram
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard(64 bit) edition
  • NVIDIA Gefore 8400M GS - 1518 MB(256 Dedicated)
  • 150 GB Hard Disk
I doubted in the beginning whether the game would work on my laptop, but to my surprise at a resolution of 1024x768, the game worked real smooth. Eventhough I could not admire the game in full throttle, it was enough to enjoy the whole game! Thanks to Gibu TM who enjoyed playing the game as well!
